Mabe Hospitality Group was founded with one clear purpose — to redefine hospitality across the South Coast of England through excellence in food, service, and professional development.
Led by Samuel Mabe, a chef and entrepreneur with over a decade of industry experience, the group unites a family of distinct yet connected brands — Portsmouth Private Chefs, Portsmouth Catering, and the Portsmouth Culinary Association (PCA). Together, they represent the full spectrum of hospitality: from fine dining to large-scale catering, and from chef development to industry collaboration.
Looking ahead, Mabe Hospitality Group aims to expand its portfolio to include a collection of restaurants, pubs, and inns throughout Hampshire, West Sussex, and the Isle of Wight — bringing the same standard of excellence to every venue under our care.

Our Story
Mabe Hospitality Group began as a single private dining company — Portsmouth Private Chefs — founded by chef Samuel Mabe, whose career was shaped by the mentorship and precision of industry greats and Michelin-trained kitchens.
Driven by a relentless pursuit of perfection and a deep respect for the craft, the company quickly grew a reputation for bespoke, restaurant-quality dining in private homes and venues. This growth inspired the creation of two further divisions:

Portsmouth Catering, expanding into large-scale event and contract catering with the same dedication to precision and flavour.

The Portsmouth Culinary Association, established to nurture the next generation of chefs through structured training, development, and mentorship.
