Samuel Mabe is the visionary force behind Mabe Hospitality Group, a collective uniting Portsmouth Private Chefs, Portsmouth Catering, and the Portsmouth Culinary Association (PCA) — three divisions built with one mission: to redefine hospitality across the South Coast through integrity, professionalism, and culinary excellence.

 

With over a decade of experience working in the demanding world of professional kitchens, Samuel has developed a reputation for precision, creativity, and leadership. His approach blends classical cookery training with modern innovation — creating food that is both technically refined and deeply personal.

 

A graduate of South Downs College with a Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery, Samuel’s early years were shaped by mentorship under some of Britain’s most respected chefs, including Alex Aitken (The Jetty, Christchurch) and Sarah King, whose international career spans New York, Dubai, and London. These formative experiences instilled in him an appreciation for craftsmanship, seasonality, and the artistry of hospitality.

From the Pass to the Boardroom

Samuel’s career has taken him through a diverse spectrum of hospitality environments — from Michelin-recommended restaurants and luxury hotels to private estates, gastropubs, and high-end event catering. This breadth of experience gave him a unique understanding of both the creative and commercial sides of the industry.

Beyond the kitchen, Samuel has also helped hold and manage several hospitality establishments under non-disclosure agreements, applying his combined knowledge of culinary operations, business strategy, and brand development to guide them toward sustained success. His discretion and professionalism have earned him the trust of industry figures and property owners alike, who value his ability to deliver results quietly and effectively.

This dual perspective — as both a chef and a strategist — has become the foundation of Mabe Hospitality Group’s philosophy: that true excellence in hospitality comes from uniting artistry with operational intelligence.
